Bell's is heading to southern California in May
COMSTOCK, MI –Bell’s Brewery, Inc. will begin distributing to southern California in early May, making it our 20th state we distribute to and our first western state since Arizona.
Craft Beer Guild Distributing of California will distribute Bell’s full portfolio to San Diego and Imperial counties.
“These two counties will help us establish ourselves while making sure the needs of our existing customers are met,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.
“We’re really excited to join an already outstanding craft beer community,” she said.
Bell’s began distributing to New York City in February after expanding to western and upstate New York last fall. New York was Bell’s first new territory in almost five years.
For help locating our beer, our fans will be able to use our Beer Finder feature in May to see which nearby bars, restaurants and retailers serve and sell Bell’s beer.
Release party information will also be available as that information becomes available.
Submit your design for a craft beer mosaic to benefit The YWCA of Kalamazoo
We're looking for inspired artists for a special project as part of our events for Kalamazoo Beer Week 2014.
Beginning Dec. 17, we will accept designs for a Bell’s or craft beer related mosaic to be assembled with bottle caps during one of our KBW events in January.
“This is a project that celebrates our local art culture and gives back to our community,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.
“We can’t wait to see what people come up. There are a lot of very talented Bell’s fans out there,” she added.
The completed mosaic should be no larger than 5 feet tall by 3 feet wide and will be auctioned off at the conclusion of KBW on Saturday, January 18th with proceeds going to The YWCA of Kalamazoo.
The winning artist will also receive a special Bell’s prize.

Bell's takes bronze medal at 2013 Great American Beer Festival
A relatively new beer brought home a medal this past weekend from the Great American Beer Festival in Denver.
Sparkleberry Ale - a blend of our Raspberry Ale (made with Michigan raspberries) and Sparkling Ale - was awarded a bronze medal in the fruit beer category.
The beer was introduced at this year's Kalamazoo Pride, of which Bell's was a presenting sponsor. It is a specialty beer and only available on draft.
Per the GABF website:
The Great American Beer Festival awards gold, silver and bronze medals for excellence in 75 beer-style categories but does not necessarily award medals to the top three finishers in a particular category.
When judges decide a category contains three excellent examples of the style, they award gold, silver and bronze medals for the first, second and third place beers, respectively.
This is the latest medal Bell's has been awarded at GABF. In 2011, a sixteen-year-old Expedition Stout was awarded a gold medal in the aged beer category.
