Better Bottle carboys are:
1) Designed to be strong, scuff resistant, easy to handle, and essentially unbreakable
2) Pure - taste and odor-free, BPA-free, DEHP-free, plasticizer-free
3) Virtually impermeable to oxygen
4) Extraordinarily easy to wash and sanitize (no brushes necessary)
5) Clear and colorless. Better Bottle carboys are not at all like other plastic carboys.
The special PET, used to make BetterBottle carboys, is non-absorbing, non-porous, and non-wetting (hydrophobic), so it will not carry over flavors from one batch of wine or beer to the next and it is easier to clean and sanitize than glass or other plastics. BetterBottle carboys are ideal for home winemaking and home brewing, and cost much less to ship than glass.

Forget what you have read about plastic buckets, this is NOT the same grade of PET plastic! It does not scalp flavor, does not take stain, and the level of O2 permeation is comparable to glass -- at much less weight, and most importantly, much less danger!
A slippery/full glass carboy is akin to a shrapnel grenade - ask anyone who has dropped one and been pierced be a jagged shard..
I have a fleet of these 6gal Better Bottles, and my very first one (well over 100 batches) is just as clean and clear as one I just picked up this week. There are some tricks to clean them very well, try a google or youtube search. They will scratch so do not use a brush, and tip them on their side to dry out.
I've left this similar review at other retail outlets I have ordered from, and hope it will persuade someone to make the smarter choice and forget the old fear over 'plastic' carboys.

This plastic carboy works just as good as a glass one and is cheaper and lighter to move around.
