Brewing Usage: Aroma
Aroma: Subtle floral and herbal
Alpha Acids %: 4-7
Beta Acids %: 3-5
Co-Humolone: 24-28% of alpha acids
Total Oil: 0.9-1.4 mls/100g
General Trade Perception: The hop aroma is complex yet subtle, with floral notes (high levels of linalool) and well rounded herbal (epoxides of humulene) characters which are reminiscent of the forest floor and fresh sawn timber.
Possible Substitutions: Hallertau Mittlefrüh, AU Helga
Typical Beer Styles: Pale Lager
Additional Information: Sylva* ("of the forest") is a true Australian aroma hop with a bohemian accent. With the chemical and organoleptic profile of a refined aroma hop, Sylva can be used to good effect to bring typical hoppy characters to Pilsner and pale lager. Freedom of expression may find the brewer using Sylva in a range of alternative beer styles, however Sylva was specifically developed as an Australian grown fine aroma hop for application in the popular pale lager style.
All our in stock hops are stored cold to ensure the highest freshness possible. Alpha and Beta acid amounts vary between batches and may not be exactly as pictured, however are generally with in the ranges stated above.
